The Kāinga Whenua loan scheme is an initiative between Kiwibank and Housing New Zealand to help Māori achieve home ownership on papakainga.
The name Kainga Whenua combines the concepts of home or homestead (kainga) and connection to ancestral Maori owned lands (whenua / ahikaa).
There are loans for Whanau Trusts and Maori incorporations and there are loans for individuals.

It has come to our attention that some KiwiSaver funds have advised their members that they can't withdraw their savings for the first home buyer scheme.
This is incorrect
You can use KiwiSaver first home withdrawal for Kainga Whenua home loans.
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
